Who We Are
Craig completed his carpentry apprenticeship in 1979 under his father Frank Dewar. After obtaining his builder's licence Craig has been delivering quality creative renovations, alterations and updates to happy clients all over Australia. His emphasis on customer care, quality work and creative solutions is the guiding force behind Skinny Whippet Building Services.
After 8 years as a Graphic Designer in Sydney and on the Central Coast, Christopher joined his fathers building team as a labourer while he completed a BFA in Painting from The National Art School. After 6 years onsite Chris transitioned to the office where he eventually took over the building design, drafting and council requirements along with undertaking a Diploma in Building Design. His keen eye for asthetics and practical skills onsite give him a unique advantage in building design.
David's life has always been about building. From furniture to instruments and chicken coups to houses; he is always building something. David completed his Wood Machining Apprenticeship and worked at timber yards around the Central Coast. After his time as Maintnence and Activities Manger with Lutanda Childrens Services Camping & Conference Centre, he joined Skinny Whippet with his Cert IV in carpentry and quickly became our lead carpenter and site manager. If you need something done he is the man to do it!
We are 3rd and 4th generation builders. William Dewar began our legacy working as a builder in Melbourne during the war and depression years.
Post war material shortages lead his son Frank to set up his own timber and hardware supply network to ensure his rapidly expanding building ventures. Both his sons Peter and Craig completed their carpentry apprentaships under Dewar Homes. Peter went on as Managing Director of the stores, while Craig optained his builders licence and began taking on the complex renovation and builds. Craig now runs Skinny Whippet Building Services with his son Chris and son in law David. Our decades of experiance means your renovation small or big is in the right hands.
